TIL that breeding Hummingbirds cluster around Hawks’ nests, and that Hummingbirds who breed closer to Hawks have a higher success rate than those who don’t because the Hawks protect the Hummingbird from animals which prey on the Hummers’ eggs.

  • Hawks can fuck right off. I have 3 crows that I feed every day to keep the hawks away from my chickens. The do an OK job but I still already lost 1 chicken this summer.

  • Bet those little assholes still divebomb that hawk every chance they get though.

  • Any “protection” is incidental, not deliberate, and the Hawks would eat the Hummers if they could only catch the damn things!

  • Bromance… I mean… Birdmance.

  • Hahah hummers, never heard them called that

  • I feel like this title should have been a little longer.
