Mac How To Use Split Screen

Have you ever wanted to multitask like a pro on your Mac? Well, today's your lucky day because I'm here to show you how to use the split-screen feature like a champ. Whether you're working on a project while researching online, comparing documents, or just need to have multiple windows open simultaneously, split-screen is a game-changer. Let's dive right in!

First things first, make sure you have the two windows or applications you want to split open. It's easiest to have them both already open before attempting to use the split-screen feature. Once you have the windows open, here's how you can activate split-screen mode.

Starting off, click and hold the green full-screen button located at the top-left corner of the window you want to be on one side of the screen. When you do this, you'll see the window shrink and you'll have a few options pop up on the opposite side of your screen. You'll see thumbnails of other open windows as well as a blue area to indicate where the window will land once you release the full-screen button.

Next, while still holding the green button, drag the window to the side of the screen where you want it to be docked. You can choose the left or right side depending on your preference. Once you've dragged the window to the desired side, release the button. Voilà! Your window will snap into place filling half the screen.

Now, on the other side of the screen, you'll see thumbnails of other open windows. Click on the one you want to fill the other half of the screen, and just like magic, it will snap into place as well, creating a perfectly split screen for you to work with. You can adjust the divider between the two windows by clicking and dragging it to the left or right as needed.

One handy tip is that you can also switch the windows between the left and right sides of the screen by clicking and holding on the top bar of a window and dragging it to the other side. This way, you can customize your split-screen setup based on your workflow and preference.

To exit split-screen mode, simply click the green full-screen button on either of the windows, and they will return to their original sizes. You can also use the keyboard shortcut “Esc” to exit split-screen mode quickly.

And that's all there is to it! With split-screen mode on your Mac, you can boost your productivity and efficiency by having multiple windows open and visible at the same time. Go ahead, give it a try, and take your multitasking skills to the next level!
